Rascal

Rascal is a sorrel Tennessee Walking horse.  He stands 15.2 hands.  Born in 1982, Rascal will bow for treats.  He retired to Ryerss in November 1998.

Ready

Ready Enforcer is a chestnut Quarter horse.  He stands 15.3 hands.  Born in 1981 in California, Ready worked for two years for a rancher in Texas, which is where he received his “WB” brand.  Ready was then purchased by a lady who lived in upstate New York, who rode him frequently.  She said Ready was a wonderful companion and won many ribbons in the halter class.  After nine years, the woman moved and gave Ready to a family with three girls.  Unfortunately, Ready did not receive the proper care and he was left underfed in a field.  His next owner was a girl who won many ribbons with Ready in equitation and jumping in her 4H program.

Ready’s former owners, the ones which retired him to Ryerss in September 2008, purchased Ready in 1998 for trail riding.  Naïve at purchasing their first horse, these owners did not realize the anger which had built up in Ready and the arthritis and navicular problems he had.  Ready was difficult to handle and tried to show them he was boss.  With a lot of patience and kindness from his owners, Ready learned to trust them and proved to be very calm and had great ground manners.  He had great gaits and served well as a trail rider and best friend.

Sailor

Lad’s Double Skip  is a red roan Appaloosa.  He stands 16.1 hands.  A very gentle, easy-going horse, Sailor proved to be a great pleasure riding horse for his inexperienced former owner.  Prior to that, Sailor was a Canadian National Champion on the line and shown in western and dressage.  He retired to Ryerss in June 2008.

Sarah

Sarah, also known as Cookie Monster, is a buckskin Quarter horse cross.  She stands 14.3 hands.  Born in 1979, Sarah held an active career in jumping and dressage, competing in many hunter and paper chases.  She also served as a therapeutic riding horse until she suffered a leg injury.  Since her retirement to Ryerss Farm in October 2007, Sarah enjoys spending time with her friend, Dollar.
